Now Playing: Ali Ingle

Don't even think of saying Ed Sheeran - Ali Ingle's hook-laden offerings have more warmth and humanity than the other flame-haired one's. Think Willy Mason and White Ladder-era David Gray instead.

You have to be in the right mood for Ali Ingle’s new video - it’s a winsome and cheesy little tale that involves not one but two space hoppers, and there’s something of the T-Mobile ad about it. But stick with it, because the pay off’s nice. It (almost) melted our hearts. And the song’s one of those devilish earworms that could well infect your summer.

Ali’s an assured and likeable singer songwriter who knows his way around a melody, and, we’re sure, will soon be able to afford better clothes than the ones he buys from Oxfam that ‘smell of old ladies’. Personally, it’s a smell we happen to love.

Check out his new Man and Monster EP here.
